Mandala, 2011
This is a Mandala that I did in art this year. It is a design or picture of a city. I drew one outline originally in pencil. I used radial symmetry to create this design and then I colored it with colored pencils. It is very colorful and the shapes are not realistic but just fun, odd shapes. The feeling that I receive is playful, and busy.
neon landscape
This originally was a painting that I did in watercolor for art this year, but I then edited it in Photoshop. It is neon trees and landscape outlines. I used the knife to create texture in grass and a sponge when painting it. Then, I used the neon filter in photoshop to make the painting glow. The idea is having a painting be more playful with effects.
Batik, 2011
This is a batik I did in art this year. It is a batik of a bird sitting on a tree branch. I used gradient form a lot as well as layering darker colors on top of lighter ones and waxing. The batik is blurred and it seems antique to me or just hazed. It is not very defined or realistic. It is very colorful, and it depicts how colorful nature can be.
Water color, 2011
This is a water color that I made in art this year. It is a water color of a lake scene with the sunrise. I made it with mainly a cool color scheme. The paints that I used in this painting were fairly dilute and watered down, except for the tree so it would stand out more. I then enhanced it with Photoshop and increased the contrast in the colors and shades in it. The feeling that I get from this painting is a peaceful, calm morning.
